We are not reformulating viscose — we are building a bamboo-derived technical fiber from first principles. Mechanical prep plus targeted enzymes replaces CS₂/NaOH chemistry, at scales rural mills can actually run.
Non-solvent pathway
We are developing a bamboo-derived cellulose fiber through a deliberately low-chemical, low-water extraction and dissolution pathway. Instead of importing the viscose playbook, we are engineering process chemistry around bamboo's lignocellulose structure — selective pulping, closed-loop solvent recovery, and dissolution conditions tuned to preserve fiber integrity while minimizing hazardous inputs.
Conventional viscose carries a heavy footprint: carbon disulfide, high water draw, and effluent streams that are difficult to treat at scale. Bambeco's target process reduces chemical load through alternative dissolution chemistries and in-line recovery, cuts net water usage via counter-current washing and solvent loop closure, and yields a cellulose fiber built for cleaner end-of-life pathways — compostable where infrastructure exists, and designed to leave less persistent residue than petroleum synthetics.
In parallel, we are evaluating an optional bamboo–eucalyptus hybrid fiber blend aimed at closing performance gaps without abandoning regenerative sourcing. Early research targets tensile strength for woven applications, dye uptake consistency across batch runs, and process parameters compatible with rural-scale manufacturing — where feedstock proximity and lower capital intensity matter as much as lab metrics.
Fiber R&D does not stop at the spinneret. Every Bambeco fiber lot is designed to integrate with circular manufacturing workflows — batch-level composition metadata flows into Loop Passports, repair and take-back events update passport records, and verified SKUs surface on the WOVEN marketplace for resale, grant reporting, and buyer-facing transparency.
Bambeco is building the manufacturing footprint around the feedstock — not the other way around. We are structuring grower contracts for bamboo harvests, exploring modular processing units sized for regional deployment, and mapping the chain from stalk to fiber bale so milling jobs, inventory, and margin stay near the fields instead of concentrating at distant chemical hubs.
