Pilot Program

An 8–12 week engagement to validate interpretability and research utility.

01 // Program Overview

Goals, scope, and
mutual commitments.

A bounded academic pilot — clear research questions, shared ethics gates, and deliverables both parties can cite internally.

Validate interpretability

Confirm that motion-field reconstructions remain readable against spectrogram and hypnogram baselines on partner protocols.

Scope research utility

Measure whether attractor and transition views change how labs discuss stage dynamics in co-interpretation sessions.

Lock claim boundaries

Keep all pilot language inside dynamics visualization — never dream-content decoding or clinical diagnosis.

Produce reusable artifacts

Leave the lab with configured viewers, reproducibility packages, and methods memos ready for internal review.

What labs provide

  • De-identified, consent-gated sleep-state signals (EEG / HRV / respiration preferred)
  • Staging labels or hypnogram context where available
  • IRB status documentation and data-handling constraints
  • 2–4 researcher hours per week for co-interpretation

What Dream Team provides

  • Configured Dream Engine viewer for the partner protocol
  • Feature → motion mapping adapters and modality gates
  • Comparative analysis sessions against baseline views
  • Methods memo, attractor case studies, and reproducibility configs
02 // Engagement Model

Proposal through
results.

Five gated phases keep ethics, data handling, and analysis sequential — no ingest before IRB alignment.

  1. 01

    Proposal

Align on research questions, modalities, timeline (8–12 weeks), and deliverable expectations before any data leaves the lab.

  2. 02

    IRB alignment

Confirm institutional review status, consent scope for secondary research use, and written data-handling terms.

  3. 03

    Data staging

Ingest de-identified streams under shared governance; validate sampling metadata and modality coverage.

  4. 04

    Analysis

Run comparative sessions: motion fields vs. spectrogram / hypnogram baselines with modality toggles.

  5. 05

    Results

Deliver vector field reports, transition maps, attractor stability summaries, and a joint next-steps memo.

03 // Deliverables

Artifacts labs
retain.

Shared outputs are research instruments — reports and maps suitable for internal methods review, not marketing visuals.

Vector field reports

Per-epoch summaries of the 16×16 motion field — turbulence, directionality, and stage-linked structure for REM, N2, and N3 windows.

Transition maps

Stage-to-stage trajectory overlays showing how the field reorganizes across hypnogram boundaries and autonomic events.

Attractor stability summaries

Basin occupancy, dwell-time notes, and modality-ablation checks that document which attractors remain stable under gated inputs.

04 // Requirements

Preconditions for
responsible pilots.

We only proceed when consent, modalities, and IRB alignment are explicit. Full transfer specs live on the Data Requirements page.

Consent-gated data

Only de-identified datasets with documented consent for secondary research use. No raw identifiable recordings enter shared workspaces.

Signal modalities

Preferred: EEG (or EEG-like), HRV, respiration, and sleep-stage labels. Partial sets are welcome when staging context is available.

IRB alignment

Active or pending institutional review for human-subjects work. Dream Team aligns to partner IRB terms; we do not bypass local review.

05 // Contact

Propose a
pilot engagement.

Share lab focus, modalities, and IRB status. Same Interlace mailbox — pilot subject line so we route correctly.
